COVID-19 Pandemic News

Beginning in February 2020, we began contingency planning for IWAC 2020 in light of what has become the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are working with leadership at Colorado State University and the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum to determine whether to reschedule the conference on a later date. Colorado State University has taken aggressive steps to reduce the spread of the disease, including suspending all non-essential international travel and U.S. travel outside the state. Like other states, Colorado has declared a state-wide health emergency. While conferences and other meeting have not yet been cancelled on a university-wide basis, that might occur. If it does, we will share our plans for rescheduling the conference. At the very latest, we will share news about the status of the conference by April 30th.

In the meantime, we have been developing plans for the conference should the situation with the COVID-19 virus improve. This includes making arrangements to allow presenters who cannot travel to the conference to give their presentations virtually and taking steps to reduce the risk of infection inherent in any large gathering.

Please know that the health of those planning to attend IWAC 2020 and that of their families and colleagues is uppermost in our minds. We will be happy to respond to any questions you might have. Thank you for your patience as we work through this difficult time.
