About Colorado State University

Colorado State University is located on the land belonging to the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute Nations and peoples. Situated in Fort Collins, it includes the main campus, a foothills campus, an agricultural campus, and a mountain campus. The university is now home to about 28,000 students and 6,000 employees.

Fort Collins, a growing city of about 165,000, provides a unique blend of big city advantages and small-town friendliness. You will find everything you would want including several shopping malls, hundreds of restaurants, six movie theatres, a regional cultural center, natural areas, and miles of bike trails.

Live music is an important part of the Fort Collins community, too. A free music festival, the Lagoon Series, occurs on the CSU campus throughout the summer, the Aggie Theater hosts a number of local, state, and national bands, and Red Rocks Amphitheater is a quick hour commute for some of Colorado's most beautiful scenery and musics. 

The State of Colorado

Colorado, also known as the Centennial state, is the eighth-largest state in terms of landmass. While its geographic diversity and natural resources have been an economic boon as well as a draw for tourism, the state's government has made efforts to diversify the economy over the past decades. 

Colorado is home to some of the country's tallest mountains, and has the highest mean elevation of any U.S. state. Additionally, Colorado boasts outdoor activities from the often-unknown tradition of eating donuts on Pikes Peak to its Horsetooth Hiking Trails in the Fort Collins area.

Colorado has distinguished itself as a vibrant place to live, as well as a place to visit. The capital city of Denver is its largest city, followed by Colorado Springs. Broomfield was one of the 15 fastest growing cities in the U.S. in 2015, according to the Census Bureau (source: US News).
