Many conference attendees will fly into Denver International Airport (DIA), where they can take the 1.5 hour shuttle ride to Fort Collins or drive to Fort Collins (see driving directions below).

Ground Transportation from/to Denver International Airport

 

Colorado State University is served by Groome Transportation shuttles from/to Denver International Airport. Groome Transportation does door-to-door service (including campus and hotel stops) and operates on a regular schedule between Fort Collins and Denver International Airport. One-way fares go from $35-45 depending on the destination. Direct service to the Colorado State University campus usually runs at a lower cost ($35 each way).

Bustang, operated by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) provides a direct connection to/from Fort Collins from/to Denver Union Station (this may also be convenient for those traveling by bus or train as Denver Union Station is a major hub for these modes of transportation). 

To go there/from there (Denver Union Station), take the A Line lightrail from/to DIA. 

Bustang drops off/picks up at the Fort Collins Downtown Transit Center, Harmony Transfer Center (on the south end of Fort Collins), and Denver Union Station. 

Bustang, along with other transit services, goes to the Denver Metro area, Colorado Springs (Bustang South Line), and Glenwood Springs (Bustang West Line) for approximately $10 for a single ride ticket. 

Driving from Denver International Airport

If you would like to avoid toll charges (E-470 = $12 one-way), please use the following directions:

• From DIA, head North on E 86th Ave/Peña Blvd
• Keep right at the fork to continue on I-270 W, following signs for Fort Collins/Boulder
• Merge onto I-70 West
• Take Exit 0 to merge onto I-25 North toward Fort Collins
• Continue North on I-25 for 42 miles
• Use exit 268, Prospect Road.
• Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 4 miles.
• Turn right on S. College Ave.
• Continue straight for about 0.8 miles.
• Turn left on Laurel Street and continue for about 0.1 miles.
• Turn left at Howes St.
• As you enter campus, continue to the right on the Oval. The Welcome Center will be directly to your right.

Driving from Denver International Airport via I-25 to E-470 (Express Tollway)

These directions apply to visitors traveling to Fort Collins via the E-470 Express Tollway to Interstate-25 from Denver International Airport Terminal or Rental Car agency:

• Take Peña Blvd. towards Terminal East for 1 mile
• Turn slight left to stay on Peña Blvd. for approximately 4.5 miles
• Merge onto E-470 North via Exit 6B towards Boulder/Fort Collins
• Merge right to take I-25 N/US-87 N via Exit 47 toward Fort Collins
• Continue North on I-25 for 42 miles
• Use exit 268, Prospect Road.
• Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 4 miles.
• Turn right on S. College Ave.
• Continue straight for about 0.8 miles.
• Turn left on Laurel Street and continue for about 0.1 miles.
• Turn left at Howes St.
• As you enter campus, continue to the right on the Oval. The Welcome Center will be directly to your right.

Prepare for Colorado Summer Weather 

      

In summer, northern Colorado enjoys low relative humidity, making for beautiful, sun-filled days and cool evenings. The average daily high temperature in June is a mild 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius)/51 degrees low (10 degrees Celsius). The mild weather is due in part to the city's altitude: 5,000 feet above sea level (1,524 m).

However, Colorado June weather can sometimes bring a mixture of patterns, sometimes with sun in the day and rain in the afternoon. Therefore, make sure to bring a light jacket and an umbrella just in case.
