  • Jun 4, 2018

Colorado State University has been selected as host of IWAC 2020. The conference will be directed by Mike Palmquist and supported by a large group of colleagues from the WAC community.

The Colorado State University was selected by the the past conference directors and announced at the beginning of the IWAC 2018 conference in Auburn. IWAC 2018 conference director Margaret Marshall noted that IWAC 2020 will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first recorded WAC seminar, which was offered by noted WAC scholar Barbara Waalvoord at Central College, a four-year liberal arts college in Pella, Iowa.

"I'm delighted to serve as director of IWAC 2020," said Palmquist. "And I look forward to welcoming members of the WAC community to Colorado. I think we can expect an exciting conference that looks both to the foundations of the WAC movement and to some exciting new developments that are laying the foundation for an enduring movement."

Palmquist will work closely with IWAC 2018 director Margaret Marshall and her team to get the 2020 conference off the ground. He will also work with a group of colleagues at and beyond Colorado State University to plan the conference.
